Sr. Device & Process Integration Engineer

Responsibilities: The Sr. Device & Process Integration Engineer creates, designs, develops, characterizes and optimizes semiconductor device structures and the process sequences required to produce them. A focal point of these responsibilities is the optimization and continued development of Flexfet MIGFET CMOS technology. Custom and traditional device engineering is frequently required. American Semiconductor technologists and engineers are "hands-on" contributors that are capable and involved in wafer fabrication, processing and test. This position requires an experienced engineer that can utilize parametric analysis equipment, contribute to device/process improvements and perform simulation and characterization as needed to define and implement improvement approaches and techniques. The position may require occasional travel to the Bay area and visits to customers and/or conferences.
Previous experience: Must have program management or leadership experience and have an in-depth knowledge of device physics and device simulation. Current experience is required for parametric testing or device characterization. Viable candidates must have current and recent device characterization experience including model extraction and compact model development. Additionally, general semiconductor fabrication experience is desired in multiple major fab areas such as: photolithography, metallization, etch, diffusion, etc. The American Semiconductor fab environment is an advanced sub-100nm facility and the ability to interface and work closely with foundry engineering and staff is of extreme importance to success in this position. Skills and Requirements:
- Project management and leadership experience, with excellent ability to collaborate well with peers.
- Knowledge of TCAD devices simulation using Silvaco tools or equivalent.
- Recent CMOS wafer parametric test or characterization experience mandatory.
- BSIM and/or compact modeling experience required.
- Wafer fabrication process engineering experience required.
- Prior Knowledge of Photo/Etch/Thin Films/Metallization/Implant and Metrology techniques required.
- Experience with new PDK creation desirable.
- Prior knowledge of SOI technology desirable, including multi-gate and fully depleted.
- Demonstrated success in process development, qualification and sustaining
- Ability to control, comprehend and optimize the business impacts of technological decisions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Due to the nature of our work this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Education: PhD or MS degree required, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a focus in Device technology and at least 4 years industry technical experience. Ph.D. preferred.
